The game sets players in the Lummelunda archipelago, where they can buy virtual land assets, gather resources, construct buildings, and create creative furniture. Once they join the neighborhood, they meet Alice and her friends - Bjӧrn the Bear, Beekeeper Bob, Ivan the Merchant, and Shipwright José. By interacting with these non-player characters (NPCs), players can get fun quests that allow them to earn rewards upon completion.
 
Players can earn in many ways. These include owning virtual land assets, trading NFTs, and collecting the ALICE token, the in-game currency. My Neighbor Alice's NFTs take the form of furniture, buildings, vegetation, and animals.
 
The ALICE token adheres to the Ethereum Request for Comment 20 (ERC-20) token requirements even though it operates on the Chromia network. As a result, it may be traded on several blockchains, including the Binance Smart Chain. The plan is to develop a system that allows users to switch tokens between the Chromia and Ethereum networks.
 
The Alpha Season 1 of My Neighbor Alice, dubbed the Season of the Timber Coast, is the premier of the many season-themed game versions. It was inaugurated last June 30 and will go on for four summer weeks.

The closed beta version for Metarun will accommodate more players and render for a longer time. In its <a href="https://metarungame.medium.com/metarun-closed-alpha-is-here-e5aef2078bbf/">closed alpha release</a> last March, its developer set a whitelist of 500 testers who played for 5 days and received rewards. For the most recent version, Metarun developers offer 550 spots for game testers and a 4-week time to play and earn.

The chosen game testers will earn through a non-fungible token (NFT) ticketing system. They can buy three types of tickets - golden, silver, and bronze every Tuesday during the 3 weeks of the closed beta run. These tickets decide how much of the in-game currency, OPAL, can the game testers earn. That also goes to how many races, winning and losing rewards, as well as ROI and 3D NFT character skins. 

Bronze tickets cost US$40, silver tickets cost US$75, and golden tickets cost US$100. Their chances for returns are up to 150%, 180%, and 225%, respectively.

Game testers who buy bronze tickets will have 100 total battles and a limitation of 10 battles per day. The maximum winning reward they can earn is 162 OPALs, while 27 OPALs are for the losing reward. Silver ticket holders are eligible for 135 battles in total (15 battles/day), 270 winning OPALs, and 54 losing OPALs, while golden ticket holders get a total of 150 battles (20 battles/day), 406 winning OPALs, and 81 losing OPALs.

Once the closed beta testing ends, these tickets are exchangeable for playable NFT character skins which can be used on Metarun’s open beta version.

Among the investors that participated in the seed round were <a href="https://funfair.ventures/">Funfair Ventures</a>, <a href="https://xanetwork.co/">XA Network</a>, <a href="https://www.lucidblueventures.com/">Lucidblue Ventures</a>, <a href="https://alphabit.fund/">Alphabit Fund</a>, Thomas Gonzalez (CEO, <a href="https://academy.moralis.io/">Moralis Academy</a>), Chase Freo (CEO, <a href="https://www.opgames.org/">OP Games</a>), <a href="https://enjinstarter.com/">EnjinStarter</a>, and <a href="https://whatoplay.com/">whatoplay</a>.

In addition, the game platform will be launching Championfy 2.5. The release date has not been made public yet. According to the official <a href="https://medium.com/championfy/announcing-seed-round-and-championfy-2-5-9e966e0827db/">blog post</a>, Championfy 2.5 will be an enhanced version of the current app. The upgraded version will enable users globally to access the gaming app with a single click.

Saurabh Sharma, a former Grab executive, and <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/zad-ngor-64baa9111/">Zad Ngor</a>, a seasoned marketing professional, started Championfy. They had previously raised an angel round from Malaysia-based investors. Among these investors include George Hashim and Julius Lim from Compasia.

Championfy was founded in 2021. Its cloud gaming platform empowers gamers in the suburbs of Southeast Asia with accessible and affordable casual competitive games. Gamers can play and compete with each other to win rewards on Championfy or its partner's platform. The game app is currently available in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Last year, Championfy also announced its <a href="https://technave.com/gadget/Samsung-is-giving-away-vouchers-and-prizes-on-Championfy-worth-up-to-RM1299-27667.html/">collaboration with Samsung Electronics</a>. Championfy and Samsung Electronics together hosted an e-sports tournament that ran from December 3, 2021 to January 28, 2022.

The event encouraged thousands of players to sign up for the platform. With Championfy crashing into the Web3 space, the company will soon unveil a detailed roadmap to its community members.

<a href="https://opensea.io/">OpenSea</a> announced a data breach on its <a href="https://twitter.com/opensea/status/1542338816551243776">Twitter</a> account and <a href="https://opensea.io/blog/safety-security/important-update-on-email-vendor-security-incident/">company blog</a> on June 30. The incident resulted in the exposure of OpenSea users' email addresses. Following the massive data leak, OpenSea advised its customers to be wary of email phishing attacks.

OpenSea, the world's largest NFT marketplace, claimed that an employee at its email delivery vendor, Customer.io, exposed an email list of OpenSea customers to an unauthorized third party.

"We recently learned that an employee of Customer.io, our email delivery vendor, misused their employee access to download and share email addresses – provided by OpenSea users and subscribers to our newsletter – with an unauthorized external party," <a href="https://opensea.io/blog/safety-security/important-update-on-email-vendor-security-incident/">said OpenSea</a>.

It also mentioned that the potential impact was widespread. "If you have shared your email with OpenSea in the past, you should assume you were impacted," OpenSea said. They had reported the incident to law enforcement.

OpenSea warned its users to be skeptical of malicious actors who may attempt to contact them using an email address that appears to be identical to the company's official email domain.

Phishing attacks involve tricking victims via email into downloading malware or handing over their login details. According to OpenSea's website, it has more than 600,000 users.

Once again, OpenSea has been erring on the side of a controversy. Open Sea has experienced data breaches in the past as well. In February, the platform lost an estimated <a href="https://www.theverge.com/2022/2/20/22943228/opensea-phishing-hack-smart-contract-bug-stolen-nft">$1.7m worth of NFTs</a> from an apparent phishing attack. While in May, <a href="https://www.businesstoday.in/crypto/story/opensea-discord-hacked-hackers-promote-scam-nfts-332616-2022-05-06/">a hacker attacked the marketplace's Discord</a> server, which sparked a string of phishing incidents.

Following the Discord incident is the <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2022/06/01/former-opensea-employee-charged-in-first-ever-nft-insider-trading-case.html/">insider trading scandal</a>. A former OpenSea product manager has been charged with wire fraud and money laundering. The employee bought NFTs before they were publicly featured on OpenSea's site and sold them for two to five times the price of his original purchase.

The security on the OpenSea platform continues to disappoint its users. With the recent data breach, users have expressed their dismay on OpenSea's official Twitter page. 

According to <a href="https://dappradar.com/nft/">DappRadar's NFT tracking</a>, OpenSea has lost more than 30% of traders and 20% in volume since the incident.

"Your trust and safety is a top priority," <a href="https://opensea.io/blog/safety-security/important-update-on-email-vendor-security-incident/">OpenSea wrote</a>. "We wanted to share the information we have at this time, and let you know that we've reported the incident to law enforcement and are cooperating in their investigation."

Although some users claimed to have received an email from OpenSea warning them of the data breach, it is uncertain how many customers were affected. Furthermore, whether Customer.io still employs the individual who leaked the emails remains unknown.
