The collaboration aims to accelerate the development and general adoption of web3-based gaming. Immutable announced in a <a href="https://twitter.com/immutable/status/1637877711346753536?s=46&t=gFN7E7VL2iyeG_UlKbpjSg">series of tweets</a> that it will use <a href="https://blog.polygon.technology/polygon-announces-the-worlds-first-zero-knowledge-zk-scaling-solution-fully-compatible-with-ethereum">Polygon's zero-knowledge technology</a> to streamline the process of onboarding gaming companies and developers in Web3. The alliance enables businesses to benefit from accelerated time-to-market and access to a rapidly expanding and liquid end-user environment.

<a href="https://www.immutable.com">Immutable</a> and <a href="https://polygon.technology">Polygon Labs</a> have been making moves to expand the Web3 gaming industry. Both have launched new tools and sought high-profile collaborations. In January, Immutable introduced its <a href="https://tingbits.com/post/immutablex-passport">all-in-one passport system</a>. The passport system will streamline sign-in and management for Web3 gamers. Additionally, in June <a href="https://www.coindesk.com/business/2022/06/17/nft-platform-immutable-launches-500m-venture-fund-for-web3-games">a venture fund worth $500 million</a> was launched by Immutable to invest in the growth of Web3 games. While Polygon introduced a business unit devoted to advancing similar initiatives in July.

Immutable and Polygon Labs have seen tremendous success in the gaming sector. The two companies garnered <a href="https://twitter.com/Immutable/status/1637877713120948224?s=20">about $2 billion</a> in investor capital alone in 2022. Undoubtedly, the new partnership is poised to make a lasting impact on the multi-billion-dollar gaming industry.

<a href="https://au.linkedin.com/in/robbieferguson">Robbie Ferguson</a>, Immutable’s President and Co-Founder, is eager to establish an Ethereum-centric gaming environment using Polygon's zkEVM technology to deliver digital ownership to many people around the world. He also mentions that billions of dollars in skins are sold each year without providing any player rights. It is something they hope to change as they attempt to make player control and ownership the "standard."

Meanwhile, Ryan Wyatt, President of Polygon Labs, noted that their partnership with Immutable is a major milestone in their mission to empower developers and enable users to truly own their in-game assets.

Polygon Labs has a long list of collaborators. It includes Nike, Reddit, and Starbucks. Recently, Polygon Labs announced its <a href="https://tingbits.com/post/square-enix-polygon">collaboration with Square Enix</a>, the studio behind the Final Fantasy video games. Together, they will develop a non-fungible token (NFT) project.
