The hackathon aims to empower participants to create unique, immersive, and community-driven web3 games that change how we play, interact, and socialize.

At the Upland Hackathon, teams can compete in one of three different categories. Each category has cash prizes and incubator programs. The first track is the FIFA World Cup track, in which participants must create football- or soccer-related projects using FIFA World CupTM and Upland assets. The winner of this track gets $10,000 and an incubator to make their idea come to life. The second-place prize is an incubator and $5,000.

The second track is the Innovation track, where participants can submit anything they want as long as it helps the Upland community. The track's winner also gets $10,000 and an incubator, and the runner-up gets $5,000 and an incubator. Lastly, in the Design track, participants must design a 3D trophy for the World of Football esports tournament that includes the FIFA World Cup logo. The winner of this track will receive 2 million UPX.

The <a href="https://forms.clickup.com/10551844/f/a20h4-28502/9NIETNR43DG963FA7F">registration deadline</a> is May 12 at 5 p.m. PT, and the project submission deadline is May 26 at 5 p.m. PT. On May 28, the finalists will be chosen, and they will be contacted directly. The finalist presentation is on June 9 at 3 p.m. PT at the Sahara Casino and Resort in Las Vegas.

Participants must submit <a href="https://forms.clickup.com/10551844/f/a20h4-27162/JMSYA8GX2AY4P3V0MB">specific deliverables</a> before the Upland Hackathon deadline. For instance, project prototypes must use Upland assets and Developer Tools. They must also provide a slide deck or written document that describes their project and how it adds value to the metaverse, their approach to using the Developer Tools, the potential business opportunity and use of grant funds, a summary of their team (including each person's role and contribution to the project), and any other relevant materials that demonstrate why their product should be in the top 3.

An optional recorded 3-minute pitch that introduces and explains the concept is also allowed. Teams must have a range of 2-5 people and include a mix of skills and roles such as a project leader, graphic/design, computer science, and communication marketing role.
