The elites of the blockchain space got together for the 23rd time at the Athenee Hotel in Bangkok for the <a href="http://worldblockchainsummit.com/">World Blockchain Summit</a> (WBS), the largest global series of blockchain, crypto, and web3 events. The WBS took place on December 8 and 9 with the theme "Fostering the Future of Web 3.0." 

The event featured opportunities for investors, exchanges, enterprises, government representatives, and technology leaders to network and explore collaboration opportunities. 

With more than $135 billion worth of crypto transactions recorded in Thailand, it was an obvious choice for the summit. 

"With the global adoption of blockchain technology having a significant impact on every sector of business and industry and Thailand emerging as a crypto leader in the ASEAN market, we intend to unite the crypto aficionados in a two-day conference with the objective of fostering the future of Web3," Founder and CEO of WBS, Mohammed Saleem, shared.

Notable organizations in attendance included the Solana Foundation, BitKub Capital Group, and Algorand Foundation.

Meanwhile, leaders of the event sponsorships are composed of the cryptocurrency exchange platform, ByBit (Headline), the standalone blockchain network, SafuuX (Platinum), and the Web3 blockchain infrastructure as a service, Pandolab (Gold).

The Startup World Cup Pitch Competition was one of the conference's highlights. It was open to startups and entrepreneurs who wanted to raise money while coming up with new ways to solve the world's biggest problems. The competition's regional cup winners traveled to San Francisco to compete against 30 other contestants for the chance to earn a million dollars. Ajeet Khurana, Founder of Reflexical; Aimee Lim, Co-founder and Head of Business Development at Yuzu Venture Partner; and Han Du, Lead Fund Manager at KuCoin Labs comprised the competition's renowned jury.

Among the many startups that took the stage, <a href="https://block.aero/">Block Aero Technologies</a> wowed the jury with its peer-to-peer cooperation platform aimed to solve difficulties in aviation asset management using blockchain technology. As a result, they won the regional championship and advanced to the San Francisco finals.
